Abdou is our special genie! He knows every nook and cranny of our riad in Marrakech (and there's a good reason for that: he was born here!), Likewise, he knows the city, its medina, the spirit of Morocco, and that of Dar Amanza just as well! He will advise and guide you when sorting out services: taxi to the airport, a carriage to transport your luggage through the narrow, bustling streets, and so on. He will select the best restaurants and hammams. He will point you in the direction of the top craftsmen. He will reveal to you the secrets of "haggling" (an obligatory pastime!) and ensure that your purchases are delivered according to your wishes. Because yes, Abdou is extremely attentive, meticulous, involved, and efficient when it comes to pleasing and serving you. Mariam's Moroccan cuisine is has been passed down the generations. Passed from mother to daughter. It's about passion too. Passion for the flavours and scents that fill Morocco. It is colourful, cultural, as tasty as it is light. Above all, it is about satisfying an appetite. An appetite that drives Mariam to head out into the medina early in the morning in search of local and fresh products. If only you could see it! Weighing, smelling, examining every fruit, every vegetable. Checking each loaf of bread and cut of meat. Congratulating the producers or, on the contrary, haranguing them before going off to find better elsewhere. Once back in her kitchen, expertise is combined with the pleasure of pleasing others. If we had to give you one piece of advice, it would be to book your transfer from the airport. Why? So you will have your transport waiting. No need to hail a taxi. And to make sure you are dropped off at the right location.

In Morocco, henna, a symbol of grace, is applied daily or for special occasions. Perhaps you would like to embrace this tradition during your Moroccan stay. If so, we can arrange for a professional to come to the riad and decorate your hands and/or feet.
